Meet James "Jim" Knox

Candidate for U.S. Senate

James L. Knox retired from the United States Air Force in 2004. During his distinguished military career, James earned three Meritorious Service Medals. He graduated from Florida State University in 1998 with a dual Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs and Social Science. He completed a dual Master’s Degree from Webster University in Management Information Systems and Management in 2004. After 20 years of dedicated service, James pursued a career in Information Technology. In 2005, he transitioned to a federal civilian and deployed to Iraq in 2009 where he served with distinction and earned the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Meritorious Service Medal.

James is married to the former Shelia Gibbons (USAF, retired) of Louisville, Georgia and he has three children. Gizcelle, a nurse, Emonna and James L. Knox II, who are both Cadets at the United States Air Force Academy.
